Is Citylinx only for large city & streetlight control projects ?
Absolutely not! Citylinx is a packaged, ready-to-use cloud platform (also available on-premise) which is proposed by our resellers to many small to mid-size cities. Out of the 300+ cities where Citylinx is in action, the vast majority is composed of small to mid-size cities actually, which benefit from outdoor lighting control, parking management, building energy efficiency and more Citylinx-based applications.
How different is Citylinx from vendor-proprietary CMS?
First, it is difficult for vendor-proprietary CMS to support outdoor luminaire controllers from competing suppliers, while Citylinx is independent and does not compete with them. As a result, we support all of them within one software! Then, they tend to be limited to supporting the features from their own hardware. Citylinx supports all the outdoor luminaire controllers on the market and many other device types, thanks to a full TALQ implementation and a massive test & qualification plan. We have projects in production with 22 lighting suppliers including Signify, Schréder, Paradox Engineering, Flashnet, Itron, Obiwan, Citylone, Nexiode and many others.
Can you please share with us some advanced specifications coming from other cities or utilities, to help us prepare our tenders?
Yes, we can. We have actually gathered in a master neutral tender specification document, all the features requested by cities and utilities in their own tenders. This can be used as a template for you to rate these features into mandatory or optional. This document will not only save you time but also will prevent issues that arise when specifications are not strict enough.
Do you recommend some specific hardware solutions to cities & utilities?
Citylinx supports hundreds of different types and models of smart city equipments and outdoor luminaire controllers. We do not recommend any of them but we make them pass through our Citylinx Test Lab and, if the supplier agrees, we share the results.
How do you integrate with our existing city systems (traffic, citizen communication apps, GIS, work order management and others)?
First, Citylinx already has many connectors to such systems. If a connector does not exist yet, our smart city integrators, or our teams, develop it for you. The support cost may even be carried by Citylinx if the connector is reusable in many other customer contexts.
